National Go Fishing Day is observed annually on June 18th. This is a day to take time from your daily routine to find a stream, pond, lake or river, bait your hook, cast your line and catch a fish or two.
In addition to providing food, fishing is a recreational pastime of many.
Celebrate National Go Fishing Day with a few friends or the whole family. Be sure to pack some cold drinks and snacks so you can enjoy the whole day long! Share your whopper using #NationalGoFishingDay on social media.
Check out this shot I took a few years ago of someone fishing on the rocks at Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. I wouldn't recommend this type of fishing, by climbing the rocks unless you're good at it. Me, I would fall, end up in the emergency room, and well it wouldn't be a good fishing trip at that point. I recommend what was mentioned above (stream, pond, lake or river).
