On the way home from my “three hour tour” (see previous blog for details), I stopped at one of my favorite places – Portland Head Light.
Portland Head Light, informally known as the Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse, is a historic lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. When entering Fort Williams Park to access the lighthouse there are many things to do besides checking out the views and the lighthouse. The ninety acre park offers picnic facilities, plenty of hiking opportunities, sports and recreation areas, historic fort structures, and unlimited ocean views that are breathtaking. This was my second visit to this lighthouse and I’m glad the snow has melted since my last visit because I was able to explore and walk around a lot more. I’ll let the photos below speak for themselves, but I will tell you this is my favorite place to visit in Maine.
