The plane lands in Detroit and I make my way to the baggage claim area. As I wait for my luggage, ideas are brewing for my upcoming photo shoots. I grab my bags, find my friend Michelle that I haven’t seen in over 20 years and we are off to get photos done of her youngest son who will be graduating from high school next year.
We travel to Dodge Park in Sterling Heights, MI only to learn that they’re under construction and no one was allowed to enter. It would have been helpful if that information was on their website before we traveled there so the Google search begins as to which place to go next. I can’t remember the name of the park all that well that we ended up going to; however, all I could remember was getting bitten by mosquitos during our time there. We leave there and head to the downtown area of Mount Clemens. Mount Clemens had a few cool spots for photos but I was shocked at how deserted the city was with many vacant buildings. At that point we met MacKenzie, which you will see a photo of below. We saw a cool mural on the side of the building that I had to capture! We then left Mount Clemens and headed back to grab dinner and hang out.
The next morning we leave for Wahby Park. It’s a small park located in St. Clair Shores, MI but it was well landscaped and perfect for some great formal band photos for Ethan since he plays the tuba for school and sousaphone (known as a marching tuba) for the marching band he is in.
Our photo taking venture continues to Brandenburg Park which is a marina and park in New Baltimore, MI. We finish Ethan’s photos and capture photos of his sister Kim, her boyfriend and Kim’s beautiful baby boy. The weather was breezy so it was a little cool near the water with the baby, but we captured some fun photos in the park away from the water and then later on at Michelle's home.
